Form Training Curriculum

Form training is considered critical to Chu Gar and should be preceded by fundamental and two man "jong" training.

There were four original forms:

Som Bo Gin

Som Gin Yu Kiu

Som Bond Ging Tan

Fut Sao Buddha Hand

By the mid 1950s the Chu Gar expanded:

Jik Bo

Som Bo Gin

Som Bo Gao Choy

Ying Chum Sao

Som Gin Yu Sao

Say Mun Bao Zhang

Som Yu Som Fung

Gan Tan Ging

Chut Bo Tui

Som Gong Bo

Sup Bot Mo Jung

Fut Sao

The late Cheng Wan Sifu was head of Chu Gar in Hong Kong.  His transmission was:

Som Bo Gin

Som Gin Yu Kiu

Say Mun Ging Ging

Say Mun Tou Da Tou Bu

Wu Tanglang Xia Shan Fu

Chu Gar Southern Praying MantisCheng Sifu passed December 2009 at 86.  He was one generation removed from Lao Sui.
